【2025 “Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong” Opening Ceremony】


“Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong”, which marks 10th anniversary this year, officially kicked off. On October 9, Ambassador MIURA Jun, Consul-General of Japan in Hong Kong, Mr. TAKANAMI Kiichiro, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the “Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong”, and guests from various sectors, including senior officials from the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Councilors from Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, representatives from business and cultural circles of Japan and Hong Kong participated in the Opening Ceremony held at Eaton Club Central (https://www.eatonclub.com.hk/tc/).
This year’s “Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong” boasts over 100 captivating activities, spanning diverse fields such as movies, performing arts, arts and crafts, food and beverage, sports, seminar and education, and campaign. Mainly in October and November, the festival invites everyone to immerse themselves in a rich array of events, deepening their appreciation for Japanese culture while experiencing the distinctive charm of Japanese festivities.


During the Opening Ceremony, organizers of nine of those events, including The Hong Kong Japanese Chorus Club, The Hong Kong Jockey Club, Medialink Group Limited, Hong Kong Branch of the Sogetsu Teachers’ Association, Hong Kong Japanese Restaurant Association, Hong Kong Asian Film Festival Society and Broadway Cinematheque, Koyukan, Sino Group, Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong Duckling Sunset Cruise Project Team, gave an exclusive preview on this year’s line-up. The ceremony was enlivened as each presenter showcased their events through a variety of engaging ways, including live performances, short videos, and speeches.


Besides that, Four Seas Mercantile Holdings Limited, Tokushima Prefecture and Saga Prefecture set up booths to specially provide Japanese snacks for the guests, while the Japanese Sake booth presented by Tochigi Prefecture, Hyogo Prefecture and Fukuoka Prefecture, and the booth by Shochu & Awamori Promotion Group provided a selection of fine Japanese beverages for tasting, allowing guests to experience the rich appeal of Japan’s food and beverage culture firsthand. There will also be events during the “Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong” to introduce Japan’s famous food and beverages.
